Course Information

Learn all about care and nursing management of older persons with multiple co-morbidities and healthcare needs.

Learning Outcomes

You will acquire the knowledge and skills in health assessment and clinical decision, applied pathophysiology and pharmacology, principles and concepts of community gerontology nursing, primary home healthcare and palliative care nursing.

The course is suitable for in-service registered nurses with valid practicing certificate from the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB), and preferably with practice in the care of older adults in the intermediate and long term care settings, primary healthcare settings and community-based hospitals.

Certification

You are required to complete 2 post-diploma certificates within 2-year validity period to be awarded the Specialist Diploma qualification.


Entry Requirements

Applicants with any of the following qualifications are invited to apply for the course:
  • Registered nurses with valid practising certificate from Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
  • A local Polytechnic Diploma / Degree in Health Sciences (Nursing) or equivalent

Preference will be given to those who have worked with elderly patients.

Successful applicants will need to undergo a compulsory medical examination and vaccinations before semester starts. Please see details and refer to instructions in the medical examination form (Click here for medical examination form) for submission of all the required documents.

Course Fees

Funding period for this course is from 13 Oct 2017 to 30 Sep 2024.

SkillsFuture Credit
This course is eligible for SkillsFuture Credit.
