Course Information
Analytical Science focuses on the quantitative and qualitative analysis of chemicals, which plays an essential role in all types of manufacturing.
This course is suitable for personnel who are working or seeking employment in industries involved in the testing, analysis and production of petrochemicals, specialized chemicals and pharmaceuticals, or relevant sectors in analytical laboratories, oil & energy, environmental & water technology and material science.
Skills-Based Modular Courses (SBMC) are available. Please view Lesson Plan to find relevant SBMC. SBMC are bite-sized part-time courses for individuals to acquire new skills or deepen relevant skills, without the need to pursue a full diploma.
Learning Outcomes
You will gain an in-depth understanding on chemical safety, chromatographic analyses, environmental & water testing and their applications in quality assurance and quality control. You will also develop solid hand-on skills to meet a wide range of job requirements.

Certification
You are required to complete 2 post-diploma certificates within 2-year validity period to be awarded the Specialist Diploma qualification.
Entry Requirements

A local Polytechnic Diploma/Degree in science or engineering with a chemistry component (e.g. life science, chemical science, chemical engineering).

Applicants with other qualifications and significant work experience will also be considered.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.

SkillsFuture Credit
This course is eligible for SkillsFuture Credit.
All Singaporeans aged 25 years and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of courses. The credits can be used on top of existing course fee subsidies/funding. This is only applicable for self-sponsored applicants and must be applied via the SkillsFuture Portal.
