Building Management System (7 hrs)
  • Introduction of Building Management System
  • Introduction to HVAC Equipment
  • System Integration
  • Main components of the building automation system’s infrastructure
  • Describe some of the latest BAS features such as wireless systems and energy
    dashboards
  • Communication Protocols for DDC ie Open protocols (Lonworks, BACnet,
    Modbus, OPC etc)
Smart devices (7 hrs)
  • Hardware selection and Router configuration, networking rules, parameter
    adjustment, database save/load. Networking rules and Data Exchange methods
  • Application and System Controllers, Controller addressing,Control Devices versus Controlled Devices
  • Types of Control Devices
  • Types of Controlled Devices
  • Types of Control Systems (Pneumatic Control / Electric Control / Electronic or
    Direct Digital Control (DDC))
  • SMART Sensors
  • SMART Controllers
  • SMART Thermostat and actuators
Control strategies (7 hrs)
  • Common HVAC Control Strategies
  • Energy conservation strategies & retrofits
  •  Design specification & sequences of operation

These are the topics that you will cover during this short course.

Certification

Certification

A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).

A Certificate of Participation will be awarded to participants who meet the 75% attendance requirement but did not pass all required assessment(s).



There is in-class assessments. Participants registered with professional bodies will be awarded with SCEM and PEB PDU points.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have at least an ITE certificate or a Diploma (engineering-related).

Course Fees

Funding period for this course is from 23 Apr 2019 to 30 Sep 2024.

SkillsFuture Credit
